I don't have a story about how I came around to liking A.I. after a long struggle with the nature of art and the morality of creation. I get that point of view, though.
And it is tragic that people's hard-won technique was essentially stolen to train a machine that can potentially turn around and put them out of work. But the genie is out of the lamp and can't be put back in, so what do we do? Ostrich mode? Not for me, thanks. It's scary, to be sure, but so is everything new.
I like to use tools like vizcom to develop or enhance sketches and renderings, then manually develop the layers back in my own pipeline.
Mixing layers and sources appeals to a part of me that loves collage.
Using a.i. for concept exploration
sometimes one gets creatively stuck or has trouble getting beyond the obvious solutions. I find throwing my ideas into Stable Diffusion can help to break the dam. A tip I learned is to put the names of the artists or photographers whose names are on your mood board (or would be, if you had one) into the prompt.
